Soccer School - New Session Begins January 20, 2012
The original program was designed to introduce the young novices, looking for a structured and focused environment, to competitive club soccer. The program nurtured hundreds of young players to the competitive game and was the club’s main recruiting vehicle until Micro Soccer was introduced this fall. As our developmental program grew we established a full service program called Micro Soccer. Micro Soccer is more complex and offers a wide range of services to our newest members including what the Soccer School program was offering.
The Rush Staff was already working in the new program and decided to adopt the name instead of retiring it all together.
The new Soccer School is a very unique and special program that offers supplemental technical training to any player that is looking to specifically improve certain aspects of their technique or all of them. The School focuses in six basic technical areas that are based on the Rush Manuals and are consistent with the Rush Way of playing. All sessions are designed to gradually teach or correct all technical aspects independently. Players must show full understanding of the skills, know all the steps on how to execute the skill and perform the skill with sufficient consistency.
The mission of the school is to provide instruction and detailed training, in a semiprivate environment, that will ingrain the needed foundation on all the selected skills. Although we are confident that the results will speak for themselves we would like to caution everyone that it is unlikely that every player will be proficient and able to execute the skills perfectly at the end of the session. Each skill may/will require additional individual work by individuals if they want to achieve the ultimate results.
The program is designed to progress players from simple skills to complex but always under the professional guidance of the instructor. The instructor will evaluate each player’s level and will recommend if they are ready to move on to the next level or continue to master the skill. All players are required to start with the beginner level but players can be waived at the intermediate level if they test and show that they have already mastered the beginner level.
- Sessions will be instructed by the Rush Staff.
- Sessions will be offered on Fridays during the off season months.
- Each school requires players to attend 6 sessions.
- All sessions will be conducted at the Waipio Complex.
- The times will be from 5:00-6:00.
- The price for the program is $60.
- An application is required.
- All checks are written to the Hawaii Rush Soccer Club.
In case of field closures or weather cancellations, the instructor will advise of changes in ample time prior to the session.
